Hi, I'm K — your Melbourne line dancing instructor
I started Boot Scooting Society for one simple reason: line dancing is ridiculously fun, and everyone deserves a go — no cowboy pedigree required.
There's no snobbery here and no "left foot, right foot" panic. Just banging tracks, easy steps broken down with a laugh, and a room full of people who were nervous ten minutes ago and are beaming now. Come solo, drag your mates, or make it a date night.
Instructing is my passion. Nothing beats watching someone find the beat, nail their first dance and light right up — my whole goal is to help you love dancing as much as I do.
Line dancing's a super friendly community, so I dance with and for other crews too — you'll often find me instructing over at Footscray Moondog and Mollie's Bar & Diner.

Boot Scooting Society runs weekly and monthly sessions across Melbourne, and I travel for events right across Victoria. Every one of them is beginner-friendly — no partner, no experience, no worries.
- Sunday Sessions — The City of Melbourne Bowls Club, Flagstaff Gardens, West Melbourne
- Victorian Pride Centre, St Kilda — our winter pop-up, wrapping up Tue 8 September
- Guest instructing — Mollie's Bar & Diner in Fitzroy, and Footscray Moondog
- Regional Victoria — country halls and pubs, including Warrnambool
More than a weekly class
A good chunk of what I do happens away from the regular sessions. I bring beginner-friendly boot scootin' to corporate team days and conferences, hen's parties, milestone birthdays and private celebrations, festivals and community events, and country towns across Victoria — anywhere a room full of people could do with getting off their chairs.
I came to this from a corporate career, so I'm easy to brief and reliable on the day. I also deliver a leadership keynote, “Love Like a Leader”, which has featured at conferences including Leading the Product — and yes, you can book the talk for the morning and the boots for the afternoon.

Boot Scooting Society is a women-owned, LGBTQIA+ friendly crew, and that isn't a footnote — it's the whole point. We dance in lines, not pairs, so nobody's left at the edge waiting to be picked. Rock up on your own and you'll fit right in.
